SIZES

To fit chest measurement:
6 mos 17″ [43 cm]
12 mos 19″ [48.5 cm]
24 mos 20″ [51 cm]

Finished chest:
6 mos 20″ [51 cm]
12 mos 21½” [54.5 cm]
24 mos 22½” [57 cm]

GAUGE
11 sts and 20 rows = 4″ [10 cm] in garter st.

INSTRUCTIONS
The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger size(s) the instructions will be written thus ( ).

 

Note: Move markers as work progresses.

Body: Beg at neck edge, with circular needle, cast on 33 (36‑39) sts. Do not join in rnd.Working back and forth across needle, knit 8 rows (garter st). Divide for Back, Fronts and Sleeves: 1st row: (RS).*K10 (11‑12). PM on last st. K2. PM on last st. Rep from * once more. K9 (10-11).
2nd row: (Knit to marked st. Sl1P) 4 times. Knit to end of row.
3rd row: (Knit to marked st. M1. K1. M1) 4 times. Knit to end of row. 41 (44-47) sts. Rep 2nd and 3rd rows twice more, then 2nd row once. 57 (60‑63) sts.

 

Proceed as follows:
1st row: (Knit to marked st. M1. K1. M1) 4 times. Knit to end of row.

2nd row: (Knit to marked st. Sl1P) 4 times. Knit to end of row.
3rd row: Knit.
4th row: As 2nd row. Rep last 4 rows 3 (4-5) times more. 89 (100-111) sts.

Divide Body and Sleeves:

1st row: (RS). K16 (18-20) Front sts. Slip next 17 (19-21) Right Sleeve sts onto length of yarn. K23 (26-29) Back sts. Slip next 17 (19-21) Left Sleeve sts onto length of yarn. Knit to end of row. 55 (62-69) Body sts. Work in garter st until Body from dividing row measures 5½ (6‑6½)” [14 (15-16.5) cm], ending on RS row. Cast off knitwise (WS).

Sleeves: With set of doublepointed needles, P17 (19-21) from length of yarn. Divide sts onto 3 needles. Join in rnd. PM on first st.
Next rnd: Knit.
Next rnd: Purl.

 

Rep last 2 rnds for 6 (7-8)” [15 (18-20.5) cm], ending with knit rnd. Cast off purlwise.Fold Cuff 1½” [3 cm] to RS.
Sew 2 sets of snap fasteners horizontally spaced approx 3″ [7.5 cm] between each other and 4″ [10 cm] down from cast on edge.
